Posted on August 30, 2011: Note below from the Executive Director Terri Sorensen from Friends of the Children. Sounds like they had a great event. We won't miss it next year!
"Last Friday, August 26th, 56 golfers competed in the first ever Jim Neill Memorial Golf Tournament at Eastmoreland Golf Course. The tournament grossed over $16,000, with a net of nearly $11,000 for Friends of the Children. After the tournament, forty-four additional people joined us for the lunch and awards ceremony. Our Friend, Hershell and one of his boys, Sentonio, spoke to the audience about the importance of mentoring and the Friends program; we showed the W+K Friendonomics video to high praise.
We are thrilled with the results and thank Beth Warner, who was instrumental in the planning and success of the event, and the Neill family – Katy, Erin, Eric, Geoff and Crystal – for their generosity in naming Friends of the Children as the beneficiary. It was a win-win day – a great way to honor a wonderful friend and a great way to raise funds for Friends of the Children.
Thank you to all who participated, and to Davis Wright Tremaine as the presenting sponsor for the tournament."
